In Turkey, the people who live in Black Sea Region is defined as “LAZ”. Especially Laz live in East Black Sea Region: Ardeşen, Pazar, Fındıklı (Rize), Çamlıhemşin (Dikkaya, Akaya villages), Arhavi, Hopa, Kemalpaşa (Artvin). Laz who have different accent of Turkish language and culture have come across forgetting both their languages and cultural lives after 1950’s. Especially children and the youth are not able to speak Laz language. The project aims at revitalizing the Laz Culture, literature and the language.
